Stop Getting Hustled by Hustlers

Hustler - a person who seeks out unsuspecting people in order to win money from them.

Scoundrel - an unprincipled and dishonorable person.

Imposter - a person who practices deception under an assumed character, identity, or name.

Fraud - deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage.

So many hard-working and unsuspecting artists, managers and their label continually allow themselves to be scammed by  vulture-like con artists who dang a carrot (opportunity) in front of these people's faces promising huge returns and once in a lifetime opportunities that actually (do not exist.) These con artists' main objective is to collect as much money as possible from these naive artists and their managers and move on to the next scam in a different city.

Had these artists and their managers spent just a little bit of time being diligent by investigationg whether these so-called opportunities are in fact legitimate deals, including, but not limited to, running a background check (utilizing Google and other FREE search engines) instead of allowing themselves to get caught in the excitement perhaps their bank accounts would be much bigger.

We mean no disrespect to anyone, but it is clear that some people risk everything by giving their money to con-artists. That's such a shame! And, it is time for artists to band together and create ownership in themselves and their music and artistry. In America, as well as, in many other cities around the world, a scam is cooked up every few seconds and/or minute in a day. That is why you must be vigilant.

We do believe there are legitimate concert/club promoters who work extremely hard every single day trying to promote a successful show. However, due to these unscrupulous con-artists having wreaked so much havoc whose sole purpose is to lie, cheat, rob and steal, the good promoters are now paying the price for this bad stigma which is very unfortunate.

Food for thought! If you know you're a talented artist with a great product, why should you or even want to pay anyone to perform at their venue? Shouldn't the venue be paying you? I would think so!!! You are worth it! Think before you act!! Investigate before you give away your life's savings to scam/con artists.

Think before you leap! Get your money up front!!! Have your attorney or someone with extensive knowledge regarding entertainment contracts review the agreement before you sign.
