Warrior - Part 1
WHAT DOES A WARRIOR DO WHEN PREPARING FOR BATTLE?
That's an interesting question and there is not one definitive answer. But, one thing I know, is that a "warrior" prepares himself/herself mentally to face the "whatever."
A warrior transforms himself/herself mentally for the battle that's up ahead. A warrior does not "fear" the unknown. A true warrior knows that knowledge is power. A warrior trains constantly, both physically and mentally. He/she focuses on good nutrition and staying hydrated at all times.
A warrior maintains a positive attitude and focus at all times. A warrior keeps his/her eyes on the victory to come. Warriors gather a coalition of allies. They surround themselves with the strongest, bravest, most intelligent comrades-in-arms, and they bond tightly to one another.
And when they have done all that they can humanly do to prepare for battle, warriors seek divine guidance. They humbly pray for protection, safety, leadership, miracles and victory.
With all of these things having been said, every "up-and-coming" artist should know they are being branded for success which is a part of artists development. The goal of the A&R Department is to find the artists they believe will sell the most units that equates to high dividends ... lots of mucho deniro for the label. However, if an artist is not particularly watchful and fails to keep an eye on what we call the "3-F's" (Fake, Fantasy and Fairytale) the artist could end up broke mentally, physically and financialy.
Create your own destiny. Take part in your creative process. Verbalize your likes and dislikes. Don't be afraid of the dark!
You are who YOU say you are. Often in the music industry, these A&R people tell artists how to think. A good example: what to say/how to say it, how to act/overly excitable/mild tone, the kind of music they should play/or not to play; and the list goes on and on. But, we all know that success comes with a price! How big of a price are you willing to pay?
