Advice to Artists

Yes... we are talking to you.

Artists, when you are creating your music (writing lyrics, making beats, arranging music and etc.) do you ever think about what kind of legacy you would want to leave after you've departed from this earth? If you have not, then you should be thinking about it. Because, your legacy should matter to you. You have a purpose. Your responsibility is to create music that will entertain and also leave an impact on the world.

For example: Legendary artists, such as the late Mr. James Brown "Godfather of Soul" and Michael Jackson "King of Pop" did not just record music. They created a vision and realized their dreams because they believed in keeping everything fresh! They lived out their dreams through the eyes of their fans all around the world. They were trend-setters not trend-followers! They knew just how to create the right hit song and sell their merchandise (themselves) to the public. These artists made us excited and want to listen to their music, buy their records, purchase tickets to their concertns, buy their merchandise and etc. The late-great aforementioned artists were a movement!!

The key to their success was that they knew how to use their imagination infused with lots of energy to tell a damn good story which transcended into great musical performances around the world which ultimately changed music as we knew it.

Artists, in order to become successful in the entertainment industry whether in music and/or film, you have to learn how to remain relevant by coming up with creative and thought-provoking ways to tell your story. Keep everything fresh - real and organic! Do not try to follow in others footsteps because you are not that person. Create your own footsteps in the sand.
