What makes an Artist unique?

I probably could speak for days on this subject. But, the main thing that we believe makes an Artist unique is being “original!”
Musicians are story-tellers because their music expresses feelings, emotions and has the power to break down cultural, socio-economic and language barriers. Music breaks barriers with melodic connections:  There is a term called ethnomusicology that is defined as "the study of social and cultural aspects of music and dance in local and global contexts.” Ethnomusicology also includes the study of Western music from an anthropological or sociological perspective. Ethnomusicologists study all music as a human social and cultural phenomenon.
We often consult with artists who have nothing (zilch) that identifies him/her. It’s like these kind of artists come with the same “gear” that’s plain and ordinary … nothing identifiable or memorable and those type of artists are indubitably ‘forgettable.’
Considering there are millions of people on Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, Reverbnation and etc. pushing their music and merchandise globally, an artist needs to do more to STAND OUT, and to be different!! DO NOT become easily forgettable! Make a statement with YOUR image!! You must CREATE an identity that will give YOU status and recognition that makes YOU unforgettable!!!

Remember this: Music liberates people. Let your music be an escape for your fans. But, first, YOU must invite YOUR fans into a world beyond the ordinary. Artists who are successful at doing this have a better chance at having a long and successful career. Be THE artistic by becoming a trendsetter. Self expression is very important. Is your music a hobby or career? If it’s the latter, than you are well on your way. If it’s a hobby, than there’s nothing more I can say.
